So I just bought an 08 evo X about a week ago and I am looking to put in an AMS CAI first. Just wanted to get some opinions on AMS CAI and also if this is a good place to start modding my car?

 

It is a good place. and at the risk of sounding cliche. use the search function. All the major brands have been installed and reviewed on the site. AMS is a good company but it's not the only company. a little legwork will get you a full review.

 

If you can.... get a cold air intake, or even an aem intake as it still uses the snorkel which eliminates hot engine bay air. A tune would be good too.

 

Pretty much anything AMS is win. but like mentioned, use the search function for such questions. Theres plenty of reviews along with DIY threads that will help you in your modding adventure. GL

Whatever intake you get, make sure it has some kind of heat shield to block hot air from the radiator fans. A CAI doesn't matter much on the Evo's though because it has an intercooler to cool the air down anyway..

 

Sounds like you got a great deal! I'm going this weekend to a dealer just to get an idea of what my RA will go for a trade in.
