Can you identify this seal/leak?

So a week or so ago, I was under the car looking for a damn dropped socket. I discovered what appear to be a leak right where next to the oil pan.

Is this the transmission that is leaking? Will probably take the car to dealer next week, just want to know what it is before I ask them to check.

Anyone else have a similar issue in the past?

Thanks

It looks a little old, I would clean the area off and check it in a week or two, that's what the dealer would do anyways.

agree. looks old, could be from a spill in the engine bay? Very similar thing happened to me. changed my oil and must have spilled a tiny splash that worked its way to the transfer case. Clean it up and keep an eye on it.

Good makes me feel a little better..... think I'll just clean it this week, and then when I go to change my oil/tires for the winter, I will check it again.

appreciate the responses
