Oh god, here goes FJF on his rant again about what is and isn't a sports car and his word is law.

Not being a smart *** but do you have a link with some times around tracks for both mr and gsr?

Even back when the MR wasn't running right, it was still faster than a GSR around the track http://www.insideline.com/mitsubishi...u-wrx-sti.html

It's now .6 faster 0-60 so I'm sure the gap is even greater

Plus, this isn't about 0-60 anyway; the cars likely never drop below 30

What does this have to do with what I said? Car magazines typically get test samples in one of two ways: They check off the options list and order the car for a full review. Or, in the case of a comparative piece, for example, they ask for a sample and it comes from the manufacturer's press fleet. AFAIK, as a subscriber to every major auto rag, that car has been the MR since it was introduced in '05. If you know something else, do tell.

Saying the Miata is a sports car is like saying Pixars "Toy Story" was a porno.

Forum wars lol.

As for the miata... I just dont see a difference between a guy driving a pink one or another color. I would rather get an s2000. The new miatas are a little more "manly" while still being a "cute convertible".

A Miata is a sports car by definition. It's physical designation, not one driven by performance or one's social phobias (phobiae?) Believe it or not, there's whole wide world of automobiles outside the ricer culture that relies on standards established before either one of us was born. It's a matter of communication.

Call it anything you like for all I care.
