Gears Grinding a little

Okay I have a 2010 EVO X GSR with about 7200 miles on it

When I shift into 3rd gear sometimes at lower RPM it grinds.

I'm pushing down on the clutch all the way and it still does this

Does anyone know why? 3rd to 4th and 4th to 5th never do this but sometimes 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd do

This is my 1st EVO and I am a novice Manual Transmission driver

Sounds fairly normal, my suggestion is to get some good fluid and bushings. These transmissions are clunky and loud when cold and in the low RPM's, but shift like butta when warmed up in the higher RPM's.

normal, here's a good thread to look at
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...on-thread.html

switching to the redline cocktail that kracka uses improved the feel for me.

Okay what kind of fluid should I get and is that covered in the warranty? I only have 7200 miles on it

Speed shifting bad, I'm guessing your synchs are trashed. But I'm not there so it's a total guess. Completely flush your tranny fluid drive for 30 min then flush again. If the problem still persists I would go to the dealership and see if they won't cover you under warranty.

Syncro's are brass, bronze, or soft steel that are used in between gears to help them mesh up. It's a bit more complicated but that the basics

His synchros are fine, this is normal.

2 quarts of Redline MTL + 1 quart of Redline MT-90 fluid
Plus whatever brand of transmission/shfiter bushings you prefer; I have WORKS, but Torque Solution, AMS, TWM, etc. all make them too. I also have a WORKS short-shifter. All together it makes for a wonderful package, my X is the 2nd best shifting car I've owned after my S2000.

Redline fluids came out recently with a MT-85, on site recommends it for the Evos.

I just called Autozone and Advanced Auto Parts and they both do not sell it :/

Any idea of where I can buy this or is it only sold online? And thanks for your help

http://www.redlineoil.com/dealers.as...=retailer&id=4

it will give you dealers in your area. if none by you, then will have to mail order. (i'd rather pick up fluids, rather than have them mailed, just incase so nothing gets broken) But you got to do what you have to in order to get what you need....

its easy, hardest part is remove all the damn push clips on the under tray. on your scale prolly around a 2. takes a little while to pump all the fluid in. but thats it.
