Heated Seats Question

About a year ago I upgraded my seats to the leather/suede seats that come in the MR. Is there anyway of knowing if these seats have the heaters in them? From what I've read, you had to get the touring package to have the heated seats. I don't know if the donor car did though.

Is there anyway to tell by looking underneath? Is there an extra plug-in or something I can see?

Yeah the heater element has to be plugged into a power source.

No its not just a plug. There is a small box underneath the seats attached to the frame. Its about the size of a computer hard drive or an old 3.5" floppy drive.

You need a switch of some kind that matches the power and need to wire it into the fuse box with the right fuse/relay. Do it the right way otherwise it could easily light your car on fire...

So if they have the heaters there will be an extra plug in under the seat that I'm not using?

Edit: Nevermind

Does something plug into that box? I'm just trying to find out if I have them or not then I can worry about making it work if I do.

The standard MR seats are not heated unless you have the MR Touring seats (heated full leather seats) or the SE seats (heated cloth seats).

if you got the seat from a 2008 MR like i did i highly doubt they are as in 2008 the heated seats were not an option. i dont say it with finality as i havent really checked but the fact that they were not an option leads me to believe that they are not equipped.

You are correct. Heated seats were a first on 2010 on the MR Touring.
