heck ya I owned my evo for only 1 week now and took it to the local autocross and won like 3 classes with my times hahaha to bad you can only enter 1!

that's a lie. those tires suck. they run off too quickly and are designed for wet and dry conditions, giving up too much dry grip. Nitto NT-05's, RE-11's, and RS-3's are much, MUCH MUCH better tires that are half the price.

Well, I wouldn't base it just on price; OEM are always overpriced. And sure, the best-bang-for-the-buck aftermarket tires are better, but they are the best for a reason. There are many aftermarket tires that are much, much worse, and many more OEM tires too. That was my only point.

The 5.0 is a great car but it did very well due to the generous amount of straights on the track.

well the point is that the C&D editors were right in bashing on the tires because they do suck. they are a weak point on the car. the AO46's were a better OEM performance tire than these, and as I pointed out there are much much better tires that could be on the car to help it realize it's potential.
