Just had my 5 mo. service today and the service manager said the Evo X is now approved to run 0w20 synthetic. I told them the manual states Mobil1 5w30 but they said their computer says to use 0w20. So they filled it with Mitsubishi Synthetic 0w20 and sent me on my way. Has anyone heard of this before? Is this even safe?
they were looking at the 4B12 engine not the turbo 4B11,,,, typical of a dealer,,,, rule number one you buy a highperformance car you never take it to the dealer, you do the work yourself.

FOR SHO on that rule... that and I try not to take the wives SUV to the dealership either... heck I'm not sure I'd trust em with a go-cart at those dealerships...
I don't know how they do it... but they manage to do everything wrong.
End of the day GO CHANGE YOUR OIL ASAP. Everyone is saying it might be ok if you baby it thru the winter... but C'MON MAN you didn't buy your evo to baby it.

Just wondering. But mobil has announced from word of mouth in Canada here that ENEOS 0w20 is good replacement for mobil 1 5w30.
People go look up ENEOS tell me what ya think please. They have a huge assortment race oil being 0w50 and apparently 1500:1500 zinc n phosphates? Any one can confirm this? Because Mitsu dealers and many shops down here are putting ENEOS in mitsus now.
