I have State Farm and I pay $67 per month on my 08 GSR, I'm 34 with no tickets or accidents in 13 years. The rates have gone up across the country no matter your carrier but the OP should shop around because that increase is just plain old robbery especially for someone with a clean record. You may also want to consider defensive driving as it can save up to 10% off your insurance premium or knock of some points.

Also have to remember it varies by state as well. I'm 27 with 3 points on my license (though I drive a WRX i know) but when it was insured in NC it was 85/month for full coverage with USAA and now that i'm back in NY it went up to 156/month with Geico getting there military discount. Had to drop USAA because there NY rates were way to high I think they quoted me like 2500/6 month period. They told me to call back in a years time cause they were redoing there NY rates.

Thanks for all the responses. I'm 33, clean driving record. Wife is 29 with clean driving record. Full coverage on 2010 FX35 and 2011 MR. The renewal for both cars is $1650/6 months (which is about $275/month). The MR equates to about $1200 of that $1650/6 months...and thats with multi policy which includes home, personal property, etc.

They're supposed to call me back/or i call them to do some "adjustments" but honestly, why cut coverages when it looks like i can get the same full coverage at another company for much less.

Honestly you're better off shopping around espcially since you have a clean record and you bundle. When you've been with an insurance company for 10 years like I was you'd think there would be some loyalty but it's just the opposite. They'll try and sneak a rate hike in on you and if you're not paying attention you'll never know. There's definitely better deals to be had.

I called and their rep said the collision rates for the X MR has gone up to almost maximum rates for the state of MD. The rep is supposed to call me back next month to re-review and see if something can be worked out since the renewal is still so far off (Feb). Apparently changes can't be made until i'm in the 40 - 50 day of renewal.

I've done a quick check on other insurance carriers and even if I go above my current coverage, the highest i've been quoted online is $1500/yr. Honestly, this is absurd. Just cause douche bags can't drive this car, the people that are responsible pay out the nose.

Ah...edit...age: 33 and married.
I had the same issue when I bought my '11 GSR brand new. USAA quoted me $1100/6 months then when I pulled the trigger on the vehicle and updated my vehicle info with them, it sky rocketed to $2300! I had to end up leaving USAA and shopped around and went with State Farm who offered better coverage + only pay $803/6mos. I feel ya pain brutha I even applied for a USAA car loan and they offered crappy, was %4.25 for my auto loan and had to shop around on that too! Finally went with a credit union and got %3.49 which is slightly better I'm also only 22 yr old with mortgage and what not so I thought it would be better but come to find out the huge house loan makes it impossible to get close to 0%

And I honestly would look into getting multi discounts with State Farm as you're in the military like I am. Doesn't hurt to see how much you could save + how much better coverage you could get for cheaper. I fully support USAA but with their rates and craziness, I think I'll just keep my checking/savings with them just because it's nice to get paid 1-3 days early depending on what day the 1st or 15th falls on.

I had State Farm since I was 16. (on my own policy since I was 22. Now 27, single.) I had 3 accidents over the last 2 years, only 2 were single car at fault accidents. After talking with my agent about turning in my 2nd accident they quoted a rate increase and after doing the math it was cheaper to turn it in. Well, 2 months later I get a letter from State Farm saying I am being dropped. I was obviously b/c my agent never mentioned that would happen. I switched to Progressive and changed my deductive from $250 to $500 and saved $150/ 6mo's.

A month a good I sold my 09' STi due to warranty issues and bought a '11 MR. My rates jumped $560/ 6mo's. Considering the cars are in the same insurance class I was shocked at the rate increase.

You guys might want to check out unitrin. I get a really good deal with them and I have a BAD record. Got canceled by state farm after an accident and ended up paying less with unitrin for the same coverage even after the accident.

So you are calling me dishonest? lol.
I have been with them for years since I had my first Lancer, full coverage 1000 deductible on the Mitsus and 500 on the Mazda. No tickets.
Edit: Been with Gieco since the early 2000's, I think 2001 or 2002.
Its amazing what no tickets an sticking with an insurance company can do.

Hope you don't have a wreck. When the Geico Estimator checks out your car after a wreck and sees all of the mods on your car they will deny any and all coverage you thought you had. Check the wording in your policy, mods can cause denial of coverage with all insurance companies. It is happening more and more. It is an easy out on expensive claims for the insurance company. There has been a big case in my neck of he woods with a guy who installed aftermarket seats and steering wheel. Had a wreck and is now permanently in a wheelchair...his insurance company has denied all of his coverage as he disabled OEM safety equipment (airbag). Hard lesson to learn.

I live in Texas and my six month premium is only $961=$160 a month for full coverage. I'm 25, divorced, never been in a wreck, good credit.
