Arrow 3.5in or 4.0in Intercooler?

So, I decided to purchase the ETS intercooler kit. I'm undecided on what size to get though. I don't want the 3.0 thats for sure. What do you guys recommend, the 3.5 or 4.0? I understand that the bigger intercooler can sustain higher hp numbers. But I am currently running a stock turbo. I eventually will upgrade to an fp red sometime next year. Will the 4.0 be too much for a stock turbo at the moment? Will I experience a ton of lag due to the intercooler being so big and the turbo being stock? I definitely don't want to go under 3.5in. Help, recommendations, actual experience will much appreciated. Thanks

IMO, do the 4". It's fine for the stock turbo, and will be beneficial when you go with a larger turbo in the future. Real-world, you're not going to notice any difference in lag between the two.

+1. Michael at ETS is always preaching the benefits of the 4 over the 3.5. Fits without trimming too.

Search, ETS posted a dyno comparison vs. the three sizes on the stock turbo.

A 4" will be more beneficial when pushing the stock turbo over a bigger one. When pushing the stocker you will produce more heat and heat soak will be more apparent.

The difference in lag between the 3.5 and 4.0 will be none existent from the butt dyno. You will 'feel' more if you fix a boost leak.

Honestly for 90% of the people, a 3.5 is more than enough.

Sorry Guys, we must have been at lunch when you called. I tried to call everyone back, but I may have skipped one if you called in. The 4.0" is a great choice. Thanks Kracka for linking up the dyno graph.

If you have any questions, I will be returning on Monday. Feel free to give me a call. For now.... Enjoy the sale

Thanks!

Michael
