Proper Mirror Set UP

Some one was asking about blind spots on their evo so I figured I would post this link up. It details the proper way to set up your side view mirrors in almost any car to eliminate or decrease all blinds spots. I find it really helpful but it takes some getting used to and it has saved my butt on numerous occasions.

Yeah I'm always surprised to see how the grand majority of people don't have their mirrors positioned this way. I've been doing it since I first earned my license.

I started doing this about 2 years ago when someone showed me this report. It is definately the way it should be and eliminates the "need" to check over your shoulder everytime you switch lanes (even tho I still do it).

+1.. I also just started adjusting my mirrors this way after I saw a Youtube video on it about 2 years ago.

I mostly drive on 2-lane highways, so blindspots were never a major issue.. but doing this really helps from being blinded at night from the headlights of whoever is following you.

Also, Rexpeed sells convex mirrors. ITs like going from the OEM 27" TV to a 58" Plasma, very very helpful.

I have been hearing a lot of good things about the Rex Speed Convex & Polarized Mirror Overlays. I am thinking about picking them up.

It's the first thing I talk about with my students at HPDE days. And second thing we do once in the car after seat position.

Red areas only come into play on the track in tight moments. I use a panorama mirror. Bonus, it allowed me to move my side mirrors further out. Can see a ton of side to side.

Some manufactures (new Mustang as an example below) has a secondary blind mini-mirror built in. Absolutely love having that. And its something that can be added to most mirrors with aftermarket mirror parts.
