EVO X synchros

I just picked up a 2008 evo x gsr. It has some grinding into 2nd and 3rd gear. I was wondering if anyone has had any problems getting this covered under the powertrain warranty.

I don't see anything referring to warranty coverage issues in that thread. Maybe i missed it. And I don't have time to read through this whole thread. ---->The official Evo X notchy/grinding transmission thread. Thanks for the reply though. I understand that it feeling notchy is acceptable. It should not grind like this. I have driven a couple other X's and they were notchy with no grinding.

Had the same issue in my 2010. In my first winter 2 years ago, it would grind and be very difficult to get into 1-2 an 2-3. I changed up my shifter bushings and flushed the tranny fluids to MTL cocktail. It did get better, but the grind still showed as the temperatures decreased. Fast foward 10k miles later to now and it shifts perfectly even in 0 Celsius. Hope this helped.

Possibly, you should have not purchased a vehicle that had a serious grinding issue??? It won't get covered. Read the thread, it does discuss it.

Thanks everyone, I appreciate the input. If they don't cover it then I will try your suggestions before I put in new synchros myself. @black95tt, you are right, but it was a deal I couldn't pass up.
