As you guys have all seen the gas prices are just sky rocketing especially for premium and it looks like it will get to $5.00 a gallon this summer.
In California gas prices are already around $4.30 for premium
Do some of you have another car to drive to work/school or whatever? Or does the high gas prices really not bother you too much?
Luckily I bought a Hybrid that gets around 44mpg so that will be my DD during the week until prices go down.

I live in Canada and gas prices for me are averaging 1.40$/L which come to approx 5.3$/gallon for premium
That's what I call f'ing ridiculous...but I still DD the Evo since that is my only car and gas prices can't affect me I suppose lol

I'm kind of lucky though. I just traded a 2007 Range Rover in for the Evo. Last time gas went up it cost me 130$ to fill it up. So the Evo "seems" cheap, although mostly because the gas tank is soooo small.
I can't do the hybrid thing. That is letting THEM win. I won't give them the satisfaction of telling me what to drive.

Have you guys actually calculated the difference in price when gas goes up? It's not that much.
Take $3.80 vs $4.30 a gallon. If you drive 20k miles a year (I actually drive about 12k), then it's a difference of $500.
20,000 miles per year / 20 mpg = 1000 gallons per year
1000 gallons per year * $3.80 = $3800 spent on gas annually
1000 gallons per year * $4.30 = $4300 spent on gas annually
To me $500 isn't a big deal to spread out between the year. It certainly doesn't justify buying another car to try and attempt to make up the difference. I just pay and drive, enjoy the car.

4.30$?!? Lucky, it was 4.55 here in Irvine, CA. It's a joke. I have read studies stating we have more oil in North America than all the Middle East combined. Enough to last until supposedly the end of civilization. We could have gas prices of $1 a gallon but we can't drill because the green people stop it.
As for personal, fuel prices haven't really affected me. I don't have a commute to speak of, everything is located nearby, so no plans to dump my 14MPG minivan. My Evo sees ~16-18MPG and that's fine. A small price to pay for the joy that it brings.

I'm paying $3.97 in Orlando...but I guess that beats me filling up my truck that I had...that monster was 13MPG on a GOOD day on 87...$100 for a week normal driving...lol!
