it wasn't the tee fitting for the boost gauge... it was one (or more) of the factory worm-gear clamps. i got a kit to replace them all with t-bolt clamps, and i'm hitting peak boost ~24psi now.

i didn't replace any relays.

Good work op! I should do the same! I can hear the air leaking out but only when the car is cold and as soon as the car gets hot the noise stops. Uicp came to my mind but I'm honestly to lazy right now lol
