just like the tool box on my work truck. It would be cool if the latches were on the underside.

The question is, Why would you not?

But seriously, it might not be real practical for a DD, but for a track car or just someone that works on their car alot, it is awesome. Saves sooooo much time. Have you tried taking the front bumper off before? Compare the 5-10 mins, if you are familiar with it, to 20 seconds.

To be honest, it is super functional, but not really cosmetically appealing. I hope they come out with something on the previous Evos.

It be cool if it was modified aerocatch latch or a inset flushmount - nice work regardless..

I would not attach that to my bumper or any other part of my evo

Agreed.

This is the one that Toxifab (a vendor on here) made for the VIII and IX guys. Looks much cleaner.

it would be DIY if you were to replicate this, i purchased all the parts i used from mcmaster-carr

this was designed with function>form in mind as it needs to not only hold the bumper on, but support the downforce load from the splitter. this car is also not a typical DD evo, it is a stripped down weekend toy with a driver known for off track excursions. these locking clamps are good for 1,200 lbs of force in every axis/direction so they should hold the bumper & splitter assembly on even if the splitter gets turned into a shovel

it could be done with cheaper or more aesthetically pleasing clips, but this setup matched the customers needs of strength, function, price, ease & speed of removal

loading a car onto a trailer with a splitter can be very difficult, this eliminates that problem as well as making it easier to work on the car in general.
