When ever you want. If you want to keep the warranty wait untill after its expired. I kind of think you can maybe put a catback exhaust on without voiding the warranty. But at the same time, that may have been for subaru's and you can literally do absolutely nothing to an evo without voiding the warranty.

I havent bought the car yet and i'm already ordering mods X-D. I plan to get them installed the first week or 2 so I'm doing it around 2-300 miles. As for warranty, it depends on the dealership. Sometimes you can get away with exhaust and maybe intake. I think a lot wont allow any mod.

At least add a drop in panel filter or intake. A dealership would be very hard pressed to convince anyone that a new air filter caused damage to a vehicle.
"Uhh... the car was receiving more air than it should due to lesser restriction... and uhh... that caused the wheels to fall off. Warranty voided."
