After reading over some more threads about the Cobb AP, it seems that the 2012 already comes with a decent tune from the factory and a Cobb AP tune won't make me feel much of a difference. Is this true?

highly doubtful... I'm sure the cobb ap puts boost right around 24-25 psi, factory wouldn't go anywhere near that.
I would also look into an open source tune by a reputable tuner. as long as your tuner can put it back to stock you should be fine.
