+1 my 2012 also has a black relay. I don't know if it is the good one or the bad one.

yea it's kind of confusing cause it seems to have gone full circle.
i believe the original fuel pump relay was black (part MR588567)
due to issues with the FP relay failing, mitsu dealerships were replacing the black relay with a green relay (mitsu part 8627A011).
then an official TSB called to replace all the green relays with a blue relay (mitsu part 8627A024) due to cold start issues. the FP relay was not included in this for some reason.
i have a 2012, it came with a black NAIS branded MR588567 relay for the fuel pump. i have no idea if it was revised but it's not worth finding out.
the rest of the relays are green again, not blue. i do have the newer grey MFI relay.
it seems the best thing to do is buy the SSP relay kit (OMRON MR122409) and the grey MFI relay.

My 11GSR has the OE black relay and while datalogging WOT on the dyno, I was at 10.2:1 AFR. It was common for me to have soot on the back bumper too.
I in no way would say that if you have an 11+ not to have your fuel pump relay inspected or have your X datalogged for it to be working properly. But, I'm pretty sure by 2011 models the issue had been cleaned up behind the scenes at Mitsu.
Wideband AFR gauge. #1 best mod you can have a turbo performance car. If you're relay is failing, at WOT you'll be dangerously lean.

Well... if the relay has failed it shouldnt have anything to do with your cold start. When the relay fails it just stays at constant 7.5v setting... so therefore when you are driving under heavy load it will be lean b/c it fails to switch the fuel pump voltage to 12.5 as it should.
