I know ac on has a negative effect with any car.... But is it REALLLLY as bad as some of you say it is? Like stalling with passengers?

I blame it on my clutch, but it is VERY difficult to start moving when I have the AC off. To the point when I drive in the city/stop and go traffic, I turn the AC off.
