AC compressor so expensive??
Hi. My 08 Evo's ac stopped working yesterday. The shop said my AC compressor is fried.. I could smell the burn and grinding coming from it.
Anyways.. To replace an oem mitsubishi one, it cost 1300 for that part alone from Mitsubishi.
I was able to find OEM used compressors on Ebay for 150-200$

do you think it's ok to install a used one?
Also.. anybody have experience with discountacparts.com ?? they sell new OEM compressor for $525, but I've never heard about this site before

If refrigerant didn't leak out and if the design hasn't change on compressors then you should be able to remove and replace just the ac clutch but then again it is so buried down there that its not worth it and that's probably why its a very expensive repair
