which model to pick? evo x gsr or MR

If you insist on pushing the clutch and you don't mind losing a few milliseconds on every shift then the GSR is for you.
If you prefer the faster car that's also more comfortable and easier to drive, the MR is for you.
If you plan on going over 400HP then the MR is going to cost you an extra couple grand to do it, but they're both plenty capable at any horsepower level so that's no issue.
Overall, I recommend the MR because it's just so much faster and the SST is infinitely superior to an old clutch based manual, but some people like pain.

the clutch of the evo's are actually pretty soft. even for daily driving. driving the GSR actually brought memories of my old evo IX MR. but the tc-sst, after driving it felt similar to the new Carrera turbo S that I drove, albeit with less power.

GSR for me, as we in Canada can get them with BBS rims and MR suspension, 2 piece rotors and the big wing - all as a optional pack. So that is what I did. And manual is just what I prefer in a sport car, reversing into a parking spot and seeing the fear in the eyes of the owner of the car next is just fun, as you play with the clutch slip.
However the SST is awesome almost purchased one, in an ideal world I would love to have both.

I vote GSR just prefer at manual transmission as for the guy stating how painful the clutch is and how much faster the mr is; unless your left foot doesnt work than its not bad at all. Also correct me if im wrong but doesnt the MR have more drivetrain loss?

I have the MR and absolutely love it. However, the car has about 75k miles on it now and the clutches are starting to slip. I'm sending the transmission off to Jacks in a month to get a full rebuild + clutch pack just to avoid ever having problems with it again. If you will be abusing an MR, even just a stock one, and expect it to last, I suggest you stash an extra 4-6k to get the rebuild and appropriate clutches. My wife can't drive manual so that was one of the driving factors in getting the MR or I probably would have gotten the GSR but now that I have it, I certainly don't regret it!

Well I already have 2 manual cars so I wanted to get SST for my EVO. But definitely MR is over-priced. If I had choice to pick between SE and MR, I'd have chosen SE (WW) with no second thought.
