Brake system service required

Brake system service required
So the other day I was accelerating on an uphill on-ramp to the highway and the " brake system service required" popped up on my display. It went away right after I let off of the gas and was just cruising on the highway. I have not gotten the warning since despite driving the car in similar circumstances.
My question is: Could the warning have been due to low brake fluid or could it perhaps there be a more underlying deeper problem that I might want to go get checked out. I only have 29K very few mods and have never tracked the car.
Any and all help is appreciated....HOLLA!!!

It will come on with low fluid. As your pads wear the fluid level in the brake fluid reservoir will drop. Take a look at your pads and a look under the hood. My stock pads were swapped off right around 30k too (mostly highway driving). If you haven't changed your pads yet, I would put money on that being the issue (it's actually a pretty good indication that you are going to be in need of some pads soon).

I had that issue before. I had checked my fluid and it was low. I was also told sometimes the fluid splashes upwards or something and makes a senor go off indicating the check brake system. More of a nuisance.

The brake fluid will only be low if it wasn't filled properly when the pads were installed at the factory or the last time they were changed. As long as there is no leak in the system adding fluid only negates the warning you get when the pads need to be replaced.
Don't just add fluid without checking the pads. https://www.google.com/search?q=brake+myths&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-USfficial&client=firefox-a#q=brake+myths+fluid+low&rls=org.mozilla:en-US%3Aofficial

As stated above, check the fluid level first. Mine was slightly below the full line and I got the same warning light. Topped off the fluid and haven't seen the warning light since. However, given that you are at 29K miles, you should definitely check the status of your front brake pads.

Anyone else want to up their post-count by one by posting that the OP needs to check his or her brake-fluid level? Last chance before I close this puppy for being rather boring and repetitive at this point.
