Lets laugh together!!!
Went outside this morning to head out to my doctor's office and the X just wouldn't start. So I push her into the garage and began my diagnosis...
Pulled all four spark plugs, a little fouled out (due to my numerous attempts to start the vehicle)
Checked all hoses and tightened all T-bolts...
Cleaned the plugs and re installed, another attempt at firing her up failed miserably
Checked the battery (12.5v after my attempts to crank her)
Left it alone to smoke, 2 hours later I checked the battery again with a multimeter to rule out any bad grounds or a dead cell (maintained at 12.5v)
Checked all fuses
Swapped numerous relays around
Inspected the combustion chamber for abnormalities (aside from a little carbon the piston crowns were good)
Re checked to ensure all sensors were plugged in
Measured the resistance on all four coils ( 1.00 ohm across the board)
Measured the voltage on the wiring harness to the coils (12.xxx volts coming through each one)
Another break, a little bit of head rubbing and a cold one...
Re assembled the vehicle and re charged the battery, fingers crossed....NOTHING!
Stumped...time to go all in and grab the compression tester....lets have a smile
Specs call for 130psi

Oh No EVO!!!
Now what could cause a global condition like....*lightbulb* Timing Chain!
Car ran fine, the occasional rough idle at stop lights but not frequent enough to be of concern (wrote off as bad gas)...didn't feel as her usual self the past couple weeks (again, wrote off as bad gas)....no CELs no famous Yellow Triangle...NOTHING!
Why oh why my young EVO friend ( 27,741 miles on the clock )
Called Roadside assistance and had her towed to the dealer...
Called the Dealership, here is the funny part, the service tech assured me its, "Not the timing chain." . . . lets not bother to pay attention to the numbers or what not...we shall see what they say in the A.M.
