Clutch slipping in cold weather??

Not sure if the if the freezing temps and a not quite warmed up car can equate to slipping clutch at low speeds under load. I've drivin manual cars for a long time and have never experienced this.

Car is modded making 350/340. Stock clutch? It has 12k miles and I don't abuse the car every day.

Remove the pill and see if that helps; with only 12k miles I wouldn't be surprised if that alone fixed your problem.

It's a little plastic pill and spring inside the clutch slave cylinder which is located underneath the stock airbox. Remove the banjo bolt and bleed nipple, poke it out with a small allen wrench, reinstall banjo bolt and nipple, then bleed the clutch system to remove any air bubbles.

Removing it allows for quicker and more direct clutch engagement. The pill basically builds in slip to make the clutch smoother for people who don't know how to drive, plus adds in a little cushion for the drivetrain for people who constantly dump the clutch.

Is it possible for something like this to malfunction and make the clutch slip? It slips as soon as I get into boost. Especially in 4th/5th.

Also, I have the dealer doing the slave cylinder recall soon, will they void anything because of this?

Is it slipping when you shift gears or when you stay in the same gear and roll into the throttle?

Removing the pill won't help now then, sounds like you've already toasted the clutch. Remove the pill before you kill the replacement!

Hahahhaha! Son of a b****!!!

Next question then, does $700 sound like a competitive price to replace the clutch? I will supply my own clutch kit to them.

Is agree with Kracka too, $700 isn't bad for labor. It is a big job, I've done it myself and at times it's a royal pita and you want to just throw your hands up in the air and say forget it lol. It's worth it just to see someone else screw with it lol
