Proper Jack Points

Changing springs and installing turbo back this weekend. Been looking at DIY threads and have not come across proper jack or jack stand placement. Any advice will be much appreciated.

good link sawdust, yeah I usually just jack up the frame rail's closer towards the tires. The central jack spot is just too far to get at most of the time. I haven't had any issues yet with that spot.

I know this is common sense:

do not forget to put a block/stop behind the wheels on the ground

if you are using jack stands lift and work on either the front/back not both

putt something under the car a few inches higher than your chest encase something fails and the car drops (ie. wheels, a big block, something that can bear the cars weight)

ALWAYS have a buddy in the garage with you! Does not matter if they can help or just watch better to be safe than dead

if you have access to a lift that will always be your best bet I know we all work on our cars and have jacks and jack stands but these things can fail or get knocked over and if you are under your car you will not be able to get out.

Safety is the most important thing. Plan what you are working on in your head to spend as little time under your car as possible. Just be smart, have a buddy, watch what you are doing, and double check your stands and stops.

we should all always remind each other when working on our cars of these things

Sorry noob question since this is my first manual but when lifting the rear how is the ebrake going to work when it only works on the rear? or am I wrong about that?

Put the car in gear, and put something in front of the front wheels.

just because no one has posted it yet, always jack it up on a completely flat surface with as little debris as possible around. A clean work area always makes for a cleaner job.
