Evo all day. I'd buy a 2G over a VR4 too.

Since I've owned both here's my 2¢.
GT Pros: Good power in stock form, comfortable cruiser, and if it's '96 or newer it stands out going down the road but didn't draw the "bad" attention.
GT Cons: Extremely heavy, not a canyon carver, and hardly any aftermarket support.
EVO Pros: Good power in stock form, canyon carver, huge aftermarket support.
EVO Cons: Not a comfortable cruiser, and can draw "bad" attention.
There's obviously a lot more to both, but hopefully summing/simplifying things up like this will head you in the right direction. It's really what you want from a car, & I love them both for very different reasons.

I would definitely go EVO X, unless you strongly prefer a 2 door car for the look or some other reason.

Now, if a VR-4 were still being sold, brand new, with some updated 2014 features, technology and whatnot - that would be a tough choice for me.

Have too agree with you there sir since I've owned a 93 3kgt VR-4 also it was my dream car and wish I could've kept her as my weekend toy and it's a tank on the road felt and conquered many roads with the VR-4 but there's a few websites and forums for the 3000GT/Stealth community. But I'm content with my Evo X get just as many "ooooh ahhhhhhhh" stares from people but probably had more in the VR-4 hopefully my future plan is too get another 3000gt VR-4 but a 2g since I hate the pop up headlights look plus 2g have 6 speed gear boxes and gearing is much better. All in all get an Evo call it a day VR4 maintenance is NOT for everyone patience is a virtue with that platform.

If cost of entry is a concern, get a Dsm. They will be much cheaper to get into the platform than an evo and it's still a 4g63. You can usually mod them pretty cheap as well and have decent results.

The vr-4 is a tough platform. Has potential, but is not as friendly as the Dsm to work on.
