I think the statement "front sway causes understeer" might be one of those Internet wives tails.

Mine handles great with front set to the stiffest and rear set in the middle. I'll fine tune more when I go to the track but it can take turns faster now than before the front sway.

One concern I have is when I do front sway, you get under steer, which evo's do naturally, however I can always counter act that with rear sway adjustments because I have the white line adjustable one, and also bound and rebound settings front and rear on the coils. We'll see. I am very interested also. Looking to get back out there soon this summer.

Those that i know with full swaybars say it handles much better. Those that only have rear swaybars say they don't want more understeer, but have no experience in an evo with full sways. I'm surprised that the biggest gain in time was with the rear sway installed. Keep us updated!

Do you mind breaking down the turn into entry, mid corner, and corner exit? Can you also detail rear end behavior in rotation? Do you favor forcing the rear into large slip angles to lessen the cornering load on the front? Or do you favor a more neutral setup where all tires slip at similar angles simultaneously?

The car feels very balanced rite now where depending on my input I can tell the car to do what I want. What I mean by that is on corner entry, the car bites well during turn in and the rear starts to slip and I will then control the rear slip angle with the throttle and steering angle I carry through the corner.Slower turns rite now I can be aggressive on turn in, get the rear slipping and rotating for me, and depending on corner exit angle I want I control that with throttle and square it off.I never get the car super sideways like a drift, looks cool but its slow.Mid to high speed corners, Im very light on turn in, there for the car is very neutral and balanced. No push.If anything, slides in the front and rear happen at the same time.My corner exit is a factor of my corner entry.I can also trail brake if Im really wanting to get the rear end light and rotate for me.When the car is set in on 60-70mph mid corner and im aggressive with the throttle, the front and rear feel neutral on grip, maybe a little rear slip on exit depending on how I entered.Higher speed 100+mph corner with light turn in, the rear is very planted like I want it, last thing I want at 100+ is the rear end to start dancing.

If I add a front sway bar rite now, will the car be more responsive on turn in, yes. With that, at higher speed my rear my start to step out a little more then now because of a fast responsive turn in, and mid corner the front slip will also be more then rite now and I’m not sure I want that.I see a lot of guys upgrading the front sway in Auto X application to get a responsive turn in under fast steering input, getting it to slide with the rear end rotation more immediately, however on a road course like I typically do now, having a neutral front to rear end feel like I described is more predictable which is what you want at higher speeds.Very application dependent.

the question you have to ask though is whether or not you want the car to naturally have the tail follow or whether or not you want to control it via trail brake - having a car that is tail happy can be fun, but not necessarily the fastest - If you're looking to have the fastest lap time a car the pushes a little at the edge is safer and often faster.

Going from just rear sway for almost two years, to adding the front I realized 90% of what I have read in the forums is somewhat wrong.

Actually Map and my shop explained to me why the front bar doesn't automatically cause understeer but I don't know how to word it like they did and I'm still learning suspension so I can't word it my own way either. Lol

There is a good write up on one of the forums about it.

To be honest my only testing with the front sway has been onramps. Going to the track in a few weeks though and I will know more. But I love it. And like I said, he set it on full stiff. I figured it would be an understeer king. Not at all. At least not yet.
