TWM Short Shifter Kit

As the title says I am very interested in this product. I have read many reviews, watched videos and how to's on it as well.

I am curious how you guys feel about getting just the short shifter or going with the full replacement which swaps out the plastic cage for a metal one.

I just got a 2014 gsr and would like to get a short shifter for it. Is this kit the way to go or is there something better out there. Any input is appreciated.

The full cage + short throw is the way to go. It will be a night and day difference. If I was to do it all over again, this would be one of my very first mod. The shifts are a lot more precise and shorter.

Ya this would be the second thing I am doing next to tint. Looks like I am going to place my order today. Did you replace all the bushings? (Base,Trans,Cable)

This is going to be my 1st mod. I can't stand the sloppiness in the stock shifter

I have the full kit also and I definitely like it. I will say that I'm not happy with TWM on the whole though. My kit came with a miss threaded shifter (so be careful to check knob fitment multiple times before starting) and was missing the transmission arm bushing and one of the cable bushings (I have still yet to get the latter and I purchased it last October - almost a year ago). I recently e-mailed them and no response after about a week (they were pretty quick in the beginning).

I still have to chase the threads on the shifter itself. They refused to cross ship me a shifter to install so that I could send the defective one back so I just said to hell with it I'll run a die over it. This is after they sent me several of the shifter nut's (the adapter where their knob threads on to) because they thought they inadvertently sent me the wrong thread pattern. Luckly that adapter is made of super cheap/thin aluminum and just molded (self tapping lol) to the ****ty threads.

The shifter as setup is a nice piece. TWM just lacks the final attention to detail that would stop me from recommending them. I wouldn't purchase a product from them again if there was another option (I don't think there is for the full cage).

Wow after reading all that I am kind of hesitant to purchase the full cage kit from them myself. Back to the drawing board I guess; Sucks, cause I was really looking forward to placing this order today.

PSUfan may have just had a bad experience. From what I have read they seem to be great. Sounds like he got unlucky. But it's definitely an expensive product if you get the full cage with all the bushing upgrades they offer. Hopefully more people can chime in on the product.

You don't have to get the full cage. Or even the bushings. I was thinking about getting everything but the cage. You can always get it later if uou decide you want it

The shifter portion of the TWM corrects the RHD way the OEM one is made. The OEM shifter has a bend in it making 5th gear stick out really far.

The full cage is INSANE. Our shop car has the full cage, all the bushings and the rare Tommy Kaira Hebi Bebi shift knob, incredible shifting (addictive actually)

Every once in a while, there is going to be that one unhappy customer. Don't let that discourage you. There currently is no other system on the market for our cars, besides just a short throw.

I've had ZERO issues when I purchased my cage, short throw, and all of the bushings. Make sure you call them and tell them what you want.

Would I do it all again - Absolutely.

We have had very few to no issues with the full cages we've sold to customers, it might just be a case of a bad one or batch. It's an unfortunate part of any manufacturing.

Did they replace/fix it?
