high rpm engine management light
Hi evolutionm.net
This is my first post please be gentle
My missus EVO X has been playing up for a while.
We recently had the Timing Chain changed with a new and stronger Timing Chain, as the garage recommended it needed doing. (The chain had stretch over 1 inch).
Yesterday we was driving along and the missus put her foot down and got to about 6k rpm and the engine warning light came on, just the same as before the Timing Chain was replaced. The car had a very rough idle and was acting weird in auto mode.
We got to our destination and we were there for about 2 - 3 hours, we got back in the car after this time and started it up. The engine management light was still on, my other half flick the car in to flappy paddle mode and the rough idle and weirdness seemed to disappear but the engine management light still remained on.
Note:
The fault codes / names it had before the Timing Chain was replaced.
Ø Manifold pressure.
Ø Mass airflow sensor.
The garage didn’t give me the actual code numbers. But I done a quick google search and this appeared for the two problems.
P0069
Abnormal correlation between manifold absolute pressure sensor and barometric pressure sensor
P0106
Manifold absolute pressure circuit range/performance problem
P0107
Manifold absolute pressure circuit low input
P0108
Manifold absolute pressure circuit high input
-----------------------
P1235
Mass airflow sensor plausibility
P1238
Mass airflow sensor plausibility (torque monitor)
P0101
Mass airflow circuit range/performance problem
P0102
Mass airflow circuit low input
P0103
Mass airflow circuit high input
Car Specs
Make and Model: Lancer Evolution X FQ300 SST, Mileage: 46,000, Year: 2008, Number of Services: 7,
The car needs new front shocks.
We have been quoted £965 for a set of coil overs this seems to be a bit steep.
Regards
Stuart

Sounds like a boost leak do u have a boost gauge installed are you hitting proper vac? This is why I love hate turbos one small leak and bam rough idle choppy.. Check all clamps check vac lines and hook up a boost guage
