New here and need opinions!
Hey guys,
well no introduction or random facts about myself
i'm here because i'm days away from purchasing an 2008 Evo x gsr
the title checks out and everything seems to be fine mechanically
the car has 67k miles on it and is bone stock
i've talked the price down to a solid $17,500 and want to know of your thoughts
i understand this is a pretty sweet deal but what worries me the most it the mileage on this car, knowing that it has been stock is assuring but i have never owned a car with over 40k miles so this just makes me nervous
any high mileage evo X owners out there? any advice or thoughts would be appreciated
i do plan keeping it relatively stock performance wise other than your usual bolt ons etc
so just drop off your thoughts on the price, car itself and perhaps some issues or successes you guys have had with high mileage evos
thanks for reading all of this and i look forward to joining you guys as an evo owner soon!

As with any car it matters how well it was cared for, and it is only a "pretty sweet deal" if it has been maintained properly.
What options does it have? Accidents in it's past? Number of previous owners? Weird noises, leaking fluids etc? Compression test?

Any warranty work reported on it? Has it been smoked in? Any snow / salt driving? 40k isn't bad for an '08, you're looking at less than 6k/year.
If everything on the car is really as good as you say and it's perfect, the price is low and I'd be concerned that there is something that you are missing.

He bought the car at 40k miles and it was stock, he said he got it from a dealer so he couldn't provide me with info on the previous owner
he has added the intake since that time and that's it
17.5 was not his asking price is asking price was 22k

I'd pick it up for that price if I was in the market. I have 110k miles on my 08 GSR and the only mechanical issue that I've had was the (common) AYC pump failure (had my pump replaced under extended warranty).
At 17.5k, if the car is in good mechanical condition, you are ahead of the game price wise. If the results of the compression test were good, and it's a no accident car, it's probably very safe to pick up. Like the above poster said, even if you end up dropping some money into it right off the bat, you still got a good deal. That car has normal (maybe even a bit low) mileage on it for it's age.
