Rear doors...carbon or OEM?

So my X took a hit to the R rear passenger door/quarter on Monday.

Good news is it's not totaled and it'll be fixed.

R rear door is toast and needs replacing. So naturally I'm wondering if now's a good time to do rear carbon doors. Can the seibon doors be setup to look stock (painted, power windows/locks, OEM interior panel)? The weight savings are minimal (16# but a pound is a pound is a pound, especially if I have to buy a new door anyway).

ps- I searched couldn't find the answer.

Look up Ryan Gates Octane Blue Evo X time attack car. It uses Seibon's carbon fiber front and rear doors. It's painted to match the car. From the outside you can't even notice the difference

Either stay OEM or go Varis https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...der-10lbs.html

The Seibon doors are just not worth the $ since they are nearly as heavy as OEM doors
(Seibon)Back Doors: 32lbs compared to Stock 48lbs

i would just stick with the oem i dont think that weight savings will be enough to make any real difference unless your makeing a dedicated track car. Also god help you if you get a door ding or something i dont think carbon fiber will hold up as well. But just my 2 cents.

You could probably find a rear door off a salvaged vehicle. Might even find one in the right OEM color. Plug and play http://www.car-part.com/

they keep finding more and more damage to the car. Now they say the front passenger door can't be repaired needs to at least to be reskinned if not replaced. So that's 2 doors I need to swap out. Mitsu wants $700 for the front passenger OEM and 650 for the rear passenger OEM door. Thinking again about just doing all 4 doors. Sigh (R front fender, both doors, and some rear quarter work). I hate this...

going to stay OEM but adding a 311 type stripe. That and finishing out my ETS bolt ons with a 4" FMIC & LIP. With those and new English Racing tune in Jan I'm hoping to take the sting out of this whole ordeal and leave it behind me. 1200 miles on the car....sheesh.

2014 EVO GSR: ETS: intake, uip, 4" fmic (ordered), lip (ordered), O2 elim Recirc downpipe, hfc test, quiet v2 cbe; Grimm ebcs, Cobb AP, AEM AFR
