aftermarket downpipe is basically useless on stock turbo..learned that after i bought my dp but test pipe will make a difference and if you still do decide to go with downpipe, id go with the ets open dump or ams widemouth dp, depending on if you like loudness or not

Just like he said, downpipes are useless on stock turbo unless you get the open dump dp.

I Skipped the downpipe and went with the ETS HFC and it sounds amazing paired with my Perrin exhaust! It didnt make it sound to loud or ricey. Its got a nice deep rumble and not much drone on the highway.

thank you...and i did some research and i am going to skip the dp for now and go with ETS HFC, reason i asked about Cobb is because it is much cheaper then ets or ams but i guess you get what you pay for, so ETS it is..thanks again.

nothing wrong with cobb, they make good quality parts just ets and ams is more expensive for a few reasons, one being that their names are bigger than cobb. I have cobb intercooler piping on my car

Remember a test pipe wI'll give out the bigger smell of gasoline. Cars around you will definitely smell it, sitting in traffic.

ETS downpipe is a full downpipe that replaces the O2 housing. The Cobb downpipe is a "Shorty" that does not replace the Stock O2 housing. A downpipe is a useless mod unless you're upgrading your turbo, however the Cobb Shorty Downpipe is useful in that it can resist heat much much better then stock. If you're hitting the track with nothing but bolt ons, the easy to install Cobb Shorty DP is a good buy so that you're not over heating the area around your Downpipe.

Isn't an open dump only loud under boost? Why would highway driving be annoying?
