Not that loud??

Hey all, I recently bought both the ETS V2 regular and the ETS V2 quiet. My car is completely stock right now except for AP flash stage 1. I went ahead and had the V2 regular installed today and it does not seem nearly as loud as people made it out to be. Everywhere on the forums that I read people always got the V2 quiet and said its really nice and loud etc. I think if I had the V2 quiet on it would barely be different than stock.

Now my question is, is the test pipe going to make it THAT much louder? I just ordered the ETS race test pipe last night. The plan is if it really does make an enormous sound difference than I could just swap on the V2 Quiet and sell the V2 or leave the V2 on and sell the quiet etc.

I had a 2006 Sti with downpipe and full 3" invidia exhaust and it seemed considerably louder than this is for some reason. I guess i am hoping the test pipe will make a very noticeable difference. Does anyone have any experience on if/how much louder I can expect it to be?

I currently have the v2 quiet installed with a test pipe and the sound is louder than with a cat installed. It's not obnoxiously loud but once you get on it the sound is good. I have a buddy that has the v2 extreme installed on his with an open dump and test pipe. Now his was obnoxiously loud but it a good way. Lol. But to answer your question plain and simple. Yes the test pipe will make a noticeable difference.

I currently run the v2 regular with test pipe and waste gate dump and it makes a lot of noise. test pipe will add lots of noise and open up a few extra hp. If i were you i'd sell the quite and get a test pipe or a race cat your preference my .02 :P

Yeah I just bought the ets test pipe. So once I get it on ill see how loud it is. If it ends up making it way too loud ill keep the quiet and sell the regular

Yea if you install the test pipe it will make it louder, but don't forget to get it tuned as soon as you can once installed so you enjoy the power gains as well as the noise.

If you want a loud exhaust then go with the extreme. That alone with stock cat is way louder than with a catless v2 or any other exhaust you can think of with not cat for that matter. It sounds awesome and annoying at the same time.

Get an electric cutout instead of a regular test pipe. Then you have the best of both worlds. I run 99% of the time with it open. Not very loud to me anymore.

Yeah the test pipe definitely makes a difference. Not only louder but makes it a lot raspier as well
