Just how similar are Lancer and Lancer Evo's?

Besides looks how much do they share in common? For instance if I bought new racing wheels for my Lancer GTS would they fit an Evo?
What about a CAI?
Exhaust?
Body Kits?

there are look a like and world apart.
Not even your rims , exhaust will fit.

some body parts will be interchangeable . Like front doors, hood , trunk , side mirrors, lights, and the whole interior will be. Other then that you quickly start running out options.

I know the drive-train etc is all different, is the chassis? Any additional welding / aluminum (like a 335 vs m3)?

I would say the weather tech floor mats should be similar but yet again I have no first hand experience on it. I would check their website and input a regular lancer then a evo to see if a part # changes or not if they have part #'s

I am not sure of the rest of the frame, but behind the rear seats in the Evo, there are support bars that are not present in the normal Lancer. There is a rear strut bar as well as uni-body supports.
