2015 Evo X F.A.S.T. key keyless entry problem

Hey I found a few posts about this, but nobody seems to have solved the issue and those posts are a few years old.

I took delivery about a week ago and the keyless entry worked perfectly at first. I would approach the car with my key in my pocket, grab the door handle, and the car would unlock. A few days in, this stopped working, so I went to the dealership. They made me leave the car for 4 days and said that they had finally reinstalled the software and it should work. I went and picked up the car, and it STILL DOES NOT WORK...

what the hell right?

I am not sure what is going on, but I also can't seem to find the FAST key options on my navi head unit. I don't even think my car has any options for the FAST key.

Someone please help, this is driving me crazy..

Do you hit the unlock button?

Yeah you have to actually hit the door button on the handle it isn't a 'touch the car' or proximity auto-unlock. Never an issue with mine, 2014 MR here.

Are you pressing the black button on the handle?

I've heard keeping it next to a phone can make it act weird. Mine will sometimes say "key not detected" even after I've started the car and drive away.

I had a 2009 Lancer with FASTKEY. Originally, it was a proximity sensor on the handle that automatically unlocked as soon as your put your hand on the handle.

I now have a 2012 GSR with FASTKEY, and it seems Mitsubishi removed the proximity sensor (or it's broken), so you just press the button the handle. No hassle, and I'd prefer pressing the button over the proximity anyway, for security purposes.

You have to press the button on the door or on the fob.

Yeah, in 2011 they killed the sensor and added the button. I have to press the button on my '11 RA and my '15 Evo.

On an unrelated note,

Can anyone explain how the auto sensing windshield wipers work? I don't know what the notches in the knob mean and can't figure out how to get it to work.
