some chad guy at CBRD (decent shop) uses open scroll for less back pressure

"And another point- our 7163 is OPEN scroll- not twin- which inherently tends to have less back pressure and lend to better peak power- so that lends to the balance in spool versus power output also. "

Maybe this help maybe it doesn't, good luck finding the right setup for you!

I'm leaning more toward twin scroll based on street driven characteristics. Im looking for more info on 1.6-1.15 A/r turbine housing I think this will give the same top end as a undivided t3 .82 A/r but faster spool. I could be wrong. turbo im using is a t4 divided pte dbb 6262

its usually a matter of housing selections versus turbo size/power output-

its hard to get the perfect combo for a twinscroll to work properly

what type of power output are you looking for?

Right now I'm wanting anywhere from 550-600AWHP. I also have Kelford 214Cs waiting to be installed. eventually I will shooting for 800AWHP and with a efr 9180. in the mean time the 6262 will be installed.

For a turbo that big.. I'd definitely go with twin scroll.

Daniel's Evo 8 ETS Twin Scroll PT6870

Mods-

ER SLR 2.2 10:1 compression
ER Jeff Bush Ported Evo VIII cylinder head w/ 1mm over valves
Wiseco 1400HD 10:1 pistons
R&R 153mm I beam connecting rods
K1 94mm crankshaft
PTE 6870 with twin scroll 1.15 V-Band
FIC2150s
GSC S3 camshaft set
GSC +1mm Valves
Kiggly Beehive valvesprings
Magnus V5 intake manifold
ETS Forward facing turbo kit with twin 38mm MVS wastegates
ETS 4" race intercooler w/ 2.5" piping
English Racing 450lph double pumper
Boomba 75mm TB
AEM Series 2 EMS with flex fuel
E90ish and E22 respectively

We are far from finished with the new 6870 and 1.15 twin scroll housing but here are the initial dynosheets from the other day. Note peak power is only at 34psi right now -

Jordan's Evo X ETS PT6870 Twin Scroll

Mods -

EnglishRacing 2.0L with GE Sleeved block
EnglishRacing ported head
GSC S2s
GSC valvesprings and retainers
GSC 1mm valves
Fuel Injector Clinic 1650 Hi Z injectors
Buschur Double pumper
ETS 5" FMIC w/ 3" pipes
ETS race exhaust
ETS 6870 twin scroll turbo kit with 1.0 A/r housing
92 octane
Omnipower 4 bar
Grimspeed 3 port
SD tune

This was low timing and knock free as verified with the initial start of the Q16 tune. Because of a miscommunication the WG had been plumbed side port only so I stopped as soon as I was starting fight boost drop. However here is the initial Q16 dyno session on a 35psi spike dropping to 30.8psi.

Hopefully these help!

Thanks,

Michael

How is 800whp a high expectation with a built engine and a 9180.. I would say its pretty easy to reach and has been done plenty of times.
