Failed inspection

So I failed my inspection and my car was flagged so I have to go see the state to get it inspected again. I have to turn my car back to stock. I have an invidia turbo back exhaust and want to go back to the Oem catback exhaust. Now my question is when switching back to the Oem exhaust what are the parts needed? Do I need a stock downpipe? Sorry I'm a noob and bought a modded car instead of stock..

Why did they fail it specifically? Im pretty sure you can have a cat back exhaust anywhere i thought. But if they removed the cat then that would be most likely the reason they failed it. Because if it was for the missing cat then just get a catted test pipe and call it a day. I wouldnt see why the rest of the exhaust would cause you any issue.

no need to run the OEM cat back. you just need a cat converter (OEM if your state requires it). in CA we have to run an OEM or CARB approved downpipe and the OEM cat. i'm assuming your state is different.
either way, the catback can be anything you like as long as it's not over your area's decibel limit (if any).

Really, I have the invidia Q300, intake & tune and i passed Maryland state inspection fine. I have the invidia catted downpipe. If you were running a test pipe then that's why you failed.

This is why I love AZ. OBD-II plug in and gas cap inspection and you're off.

We now do the OBD-II test instead of sniffer. It's the visual that kills it.

Even still, most cars can't fool the OBD-II test like an Evo can.

In Massachusetts, as long as you have a functional cat on your Evo, it should pass the inspection with flying colours.

There is no need to touch the cat-back.

Hey. I code the emissions for the US databases. All you need is a cat since they'll be doing a visual inspection as well. Make sure your monitors read ready. Don't just clear them. Drive about 100 miles and you'll be ok. 6 of 7 should be present. Thats the least for all states. You could also have a friend or shop write you up an estimate of $400 or more towards a repair for emssion related repairs and that can pass you too in several states.

I'm trying to find a way to set the monitors to always read ready cause I have a test pipe but that needs to be done with a tune and none of the shops in my area do that

put on a catalytic converter and base tune. should get you by. only other thing to worry about is oxygen sensor readiness and response. i failed the response on mine. ''Unsupported'' was the response so it failed emissions.

i seen one of your post that you have a 2008 gsr with mods. just bolt ons?no open dump? is there a tune? I have a a 2008 gsr as well and emission **** me off here in MO. if you're going to the state fpr and inspection make sure you know why they flagged your car and get that with in compliance.

pay attention to road height/clearance and emissions.
