Should I buy either of these EVOs?
Good day evo owners! I am looking to come into the brotherhood and recently came to find a Grey 2013 EVO GSR stock with 16,000 miles listed at $29,000. It appears to be bone stock, no scuffed bolts or obvious swapping over of parts. The car is at a small local private dealer about 20 miles away from me. He actually has 2 2013 evos the one above with the aero package and a red one with 22,000 miles with out the aero package. I got him down to $27,000 on this one.
I went and test drove the grey one a couple days ago but decided to walk and take some more time to think about the deal. the asking price is 29,000 and he is not negotiating on that at all, although he did give me a decent trade in number for my truck.
My questions are is this a decent deal and what are some things I should be concerned about? I didn't think much of it when i was driving but I noticed the Tarmac indicator flashing on the dash when I was driving it, no CEL. Upon returning home I did some more research and it didn't take long to come across the awe/adc pump failures. I realize that the factory warranty for the pump got extended to 10 years/100,000 miles but its still concerning to me, especially if it is already acting up. Thats the only thing that has me hung up on if this is the right car for me, I love everything else about it, especially how it handles compared to my subaru, lol.
Here are both links to the cars :
Gray MSR http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-s...05588303&Log=0
Red MSR http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-s...08973401&Log=0
Which one would you choose and why? Or keep looking?
Thank you in advance!

Dude I like your charisma but there are two cautions here. For one there is no such thing as an "msr". Secondly, I wouldn't trust any dealer, much less "Terry's" auto sales...
Not to say they aren't both great cars BUT there is usually a good reason why cars end up sold at auction and bought by a small local dealer. Do your due diligence. You have a good eye for research apparently so the BEST thing you can do is take it to a reputable evo shop for an inspection and double check carfax and autocheck. Then, it's worth anything you want to pay for it. Make him also fix the flashing Tarmac light before you take it.
May be a great deal and if it's still under warranty then you should be good. Otherwise it may be an expensive problem waiting for you.
I paid 32 brand new for a 15 with upgraded wheels just for reference.

I just ran carfax on both cars, you can thank me later. In short, I wouldn't buy either one. Both cars show accidents on the carfax, gray one was rear ended, which may explain the acd pump being broken, which the manufacturer may or may not warranty for that very reason, and the second has been sideswiped and rear ended, with structural damage.
Here is my advice. Evos fall into two camps- beat to crap, modified, returned back to stock, crashed and usually cheap. Or, really really nice, but not cheap. Maybe 10% of all Evos. I suggest spending a few extra bucks for a nice one, because, with the cheap one, you'll spend whatever you saved up front to fix whatever was f'd up previously, and you'd still have car that was in an accident.

I agree with both Angry and Dand..
my 2 cents..
from the last two Evos I have purchased... first IX MR and my current one a 13 X MR. Both I found two states away from big dealerships (both were Toyota dealterships ) where the cars were traded in as a result of what appears to be money(or unexpected children) issues from the initial owner. Both cars had less than 10k miles on them and were completely stock and still smelling new. Whenever I look on cars.com or autotrader... I take into account big dealerships that are NOT Mitsu dealerships because for me, both times they didn't know what they had. Both cars were advertised for KBB but I was able to talk them down. Remember they want to move the car and wholesaling is their last resort so they rather squeeze some money out of them if they can sell them on their own.
I don't quite recall the IX's listing price but I bought the car for 28k back in 2009.
The X MR was being advertised fr 36,900 and I talked him down to 33k (I paid VA sales tax of course). Every option is on this car, Nav, leather, sunroof, blue lighting and even the shift knob package) sticker was 46750.
Just pointing out that first owners trade their cars in often because of undo hardships. Their loss... unfortunately.
Sorry for the long rant. Walk away from both of those cars. There are plenty of good Evos out there. Take your time.

thank you everyone for the advice. thats a bummer, i had high hopes to get the grey one on Wednesday. my subaru I bought in tennessee, I am in PA, the trip was fun but it also wasnt cheap and took some planning. I guess I was looking to just get lucky. Thanks again for the words of wisdom. Could you take a picture of the carfax maybe, or a screenshot and post it, Im curious. I may still take it to a local tune shop, TPG tuning to have them check it out.

good lookin out for him. to be honest scoobyjohn, if you don't have to get your Evo right away, you might want to wait another month or two and just see how the market shakes out. I think a lot of dealers are going to be forced to try and move some of their newer 2015 Evos due to the FEs hitting market. This might put downward pressure on the 13s and 14s. You might be able to get an even better deal not too long into 2016

Yea, very good looking out. As my first post and thread I was surprised at the people who posted. I greatly appreciate it and it says a lot about the community. I may try to wait it out but I'm really trying to get out of this truck, it's nicklin and diming me to death and I don't enjoy driving it at all. It's a 97 dodge cummins, I bought it as a work truck, it can be fun but it's just old and anlways needs something.

Glad I can help. As far as waiting, I disagree. These cars are no longer produced, which means if you wait, you may not be able to get one in the color/spec you want, if you can even get one at all (new that is). I don't think prices for these cars are going down in the same way cars currently produced are, but I could be wrong.

I mean honestly having the car in a minor accident like getting rear ended would make this car un buyable.. I mean it could have been just a fender bender no big deal. Although it will effect the price though.

There is the problem. Accidents happen, unfortunately, but the issue is, we have no way of knowing the severity, unless there were pictures of the damage, and the repair process that it was done properly. Also, the other issue is, no matter how well an accident was repaired, most, including me, would prefer a car that didn't have one to begin with, so price suffers.

I was randomly looking around at pricing on 2013 and 2014 Evos just wondering what they might cost a couple years from now, and saw this listing which was just interesting because it shows the price history of this vehicle. It's a 2014 GSR and has been on sale since November, and the price has dropped from 33.9k to 30.6k since November. I have to think that is due to the FEs being on the market. It might go back up once the FEs sell out, but I wouldn't be surprised if that takes a while and there are still a ton of other 2015s still brand new on the market.

If you are financing, get a new 2015 GSR for $32-33k. Interest rates on a new car are usually great, so your monthly payment will likely be about the same.
If you are paying cash, hold out for a low mileage (like under 10k miles) 2013-14 for $27-28k.
