I'm not sure this qualifies as "Tested"...
But not a bad summary. I agree that for the other features ripping out the seats isn't horrible. But you're paying $10k more today than the identical vehicle cost 8 years ago with better seats. That's a failure mitsubishi.

Of course I'm filling in the blanks with nearly eight continuous years of X ownership. But I (like you probably do as well) know the X like a second skin. I didn't have to put the spurs to a car that I'm not going to buy to say those things.
I will admit that I hit one on-ramp at pretty high entry speed, sans revving it out much, and while the chassis was below its limit- whoa!- those crummy Lancer seats weren't. My butt ran out of real estate fast and I had to brace myself in the corner. Strangest and most unnatural feeling in an Evo, ever. I'd have those seats out of that car week one!
As far as price, compared to a 2008 SSS which also had HIDs, tall wing, and Rockford radio, the price isn't that much higher when you also consider the MR parts.

You're totally right. Thread title now matches the content.

There is more than 1 way to skin a Rabbit.
Add Springs like the Swift R's and a Sway Bar like the White Line and End Links
and your body roll will be almost gone.
You will stay in your seat just fine. Probably more options.
I went from a 13 MR with leather Recaros to a 15 MR with non Recaros leather
seats and I like the 15 seats better.
No doubt the Recaros are great but hard to get in and out off them.
For those of us who use a drag strip track more than a road coarse track, these
seats work just fine.
This opinion coming from me and my 15 MR making about 400 whp and doing
12.1@112+ in the quarter mile.

I have Ohlins 10k/10k with a rear swaybar on 265w rubber. Roll is substantially less than Swifts. But I do love high speed corners; favorite part of the car to me. Seats make a massive difference in left to right transitions. I'm not small at 6'1" and 210, and larger I might like the Lancer seats. But as I am now, I love these Recaros. Drove my 08 from California to Georgia with the Recaros in two days, zero pain. Eight years later, they're still the most comfortable stock seats I've ever sat in.
I just had a to take a jab at mitsubishi. I think the MR options on the GSR are completely worth it. Though if you plan on modifying the vehicle, most of the updates are things you'll replace pretty soon anyway.
I want to see a diamond white in person though, a sweet white color would be appealing.

This. They are great for holding you in place, but I also can't believe how much more comfortable they are. I've made multiple day long car trips in the Evo and never got a sore *** or felt uncomfortable.

Good article. I never transitioned to the next gen vehicle but appreciate all the aspects of it.
Mitsu hung in there as long as they could.
I feel they truly made a statement in the industry with the Evo.
Car manufactures are scrambling to fill the vacuum as it leaves.
The question is will replacements types have the legacy and following the Evo did.
Only time will tell.
