Wtk: using FPR hose for T joint fitting for boost gauge?

Is this a good location to tap into for accurate readings?
Reason i'm asking is because this where my mechanic tapped into and just wanted to clarify if it was a good location or should i move it to somewhere else?
came across this thread (props to OP for excellent write up) and saw it was fitted to a vacuum line just below the UICP.

The gauge i'm using is the Blitz FATT(Full auto turbo timer) advance + with the optional boost sensor

attached a couple pics to show location....thanks for the input guys!

bump...anybody with info?just used the the torque pro app and it says my peak boost is 22.5psi whereas the blitz says 29 peak psi...so don't know which is right :S..car was street tuned while i was out the country so don't know if the tuner raised the boost...my mechanic says he didn't just did a conservative tune and well won't be able to get into to contact with the tuner til the following day....i'm doing 301 whp and 275 wtq when i took it on the dyno yesterday.

So is the reading i'm getting actual boost or fuel pressure as the blitz sensor can't read above 30 psi unless the 50 psi sensor is used. any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

From what I've seen (don't have one myself), several people have used that spot. Especially on the 8/9's. Only thing they've said is to make sure to secure the line. Don't want it popping off.

If you're making over 300hp at the wheels, you'r tuner probably raised the boost. Especially since stock boost is like 18-20 psi and tapers down.

I used that spot on my X MR. You should be good

LOL, just read which gauge you're using, I used the exact same gauge in the exact same place. Mounted it on my steering console.

Lol thanks for the info guys!just being a bit paranoid i guess...especially knowing how our cars(MR especially) could be a ***** sometimes but she just has u addicted once u treat her good and bad lol and got mine mounted in the same exact location migs647 and good to know u got the same exact guage used the same spot...

Epyon same thing i was thing guess the tuner did raise the boost and tapers back down at higher rpms gonna meet up with him to do a dyno tune so would definitely ask him about it...just hard to keep an eye on it when at WOT lol...

one of the first things i did .M. among other things as soon as i got the car after reading through the sticky thread about helpful X faqs etc, but will secure the hoses with clamps at the T joint also just incase ...
normally do most of my work on all my cars i've owned but just didn't have time and was highly recommended to the this mechanic...so thanks again guys for putting my paranoia at bay!lol
