test pipe or no test pipe?

hello,

I was thinking about putting on a catback exhaust along with resonated test pipe but I've been reading tht in order to run test pipe I'll have to get the evo tune. is this true? I have a 2015 evo x. I'm sure the catback alone is fine its just the test pipe that gets me iffy about it.

Yes, if you put a test pipe on you need to get a tune for it.

Yep, 100% need a tune if you get either a test pipe or high flow cat.

I ran a test pipe for about a month before the tune, but watched my boost/AFR like a hawk. But I definitely recommend getting a tune after the install. Or wait until you're about to get tuned to install it.

Danm I might just get the catback for now and the test pipe down along the road. Don't want a tune until I have everything in place. And getting a tune now might void my warranty.

Just get the catback. You won't see anything good from putting a test pipe on without a tune. It's not worth the risk.

I didn't do the test pipe for the same reasons, and I'm very happy with it.
