Evo X Cobb SF Intake with Cobb Air box-Advise Needed

I want to install Cobb SF Intake with Cobb Air Box on my 2012 Evo X MR and i need to know if there are any drivability issues with this like inconsistent idle at any time. For those who have it could you please share your experience with this setup. I've heard that there were some idle issues with an SF intake used without any heat shield due to fluctuations in temperature under the hood especially from cooling fans and i wonder if these have been eliminated with this new air box.
What are the advantages of this setup if any?
Your help would be greatly appreciated.

I have the Cobb intake,I had it dyno tuned after install so I have had no issues. The airbox is just for looks I'm pretty sure.

They said that the airbox prevents hot air from cooling fans being sucked into the intake and messing up the idle at times when you not moving like being stock in traffic.
Good to hear that you don't have any problems even with out the airbox.

The only issue you will have without the box, is if you run the a/c the idle may be a little wonky when your sitting still but otherwise it wont matter. The a/c fan seems to blow more air around the engine bay and upsets it a little, but was never really an issue for me.
