I have an aftermarket clutch on my EVO X but the clutch master cylinder is stock which is causing reverse to kind of grind because the gear is still circulating when I engage the clutch so I have to throw it in a gear then in reverse to avoid that. The clutch master cylinder is fine its brand new because there was a recall on it and it got replaced by the Mitsubishi dealer so my question is do I have to upgrade the whole clutch master cylinder and kit or can I just get the kit? Or can I just get the metal wires since the stock ones for the car are rubber and not strong enough because of the aftermarket clutch?

 

The common issue isn't in the line to the slave, it's the master cylinder splitting. Grinding would generally mean you have a disengagement issue. Check for clutch drag
