Hi, its possible to repair that quater, but if you are extremely pedantic then no. There is lot of things to do like you need to remove rear window, you need to cut damaged quater, weld a new one, you need to put a filler, then repaint all the side, cause the colour can not to be the same. Its not for pedantics. But dont worry, Im pedantic to.

Here is a sample I found in my computer, it shows how to replace it on Evo 8-9.
Goodluck

Wow is that out of the official repair manual? I never knew they covered body damage like that.

The problem with that specific part of the car is that it is one contiguous piece from the front of the car all the way to the back. Most EVO's when hit there are totalled due to the issues with repairing. Good luck but that's a hell of a hit. Did you get track insurance before your event?

His car is salvageable.

He's looking around 7-10k worth of parts, labor and paint.

My car was hit similarly and I had to get the entire quarter panel replaced, they had to order a brand new one from Mitsu. My total repair costs was around 6.5k

You're going to need a new trunk, latches, and they will need to make sure the AYC/ACD pump lines are good and not damage, along with the pump.

That whole section will need to get cut out and welded, blended and matched to the car cause is the body panel. As long as the frame is straight (which is was in my case) you'll be fine.

I'll attach a picture of mine for reference, its nowhere near as bad as yours but I still needed the same repair you will need.

If you can get this covered, might be out of a car for a few weeks or longer depending on parts availability and if the collision shop starts work as soon as they get the parts.

That's extremely impressive nzevo8. The W13B is the color of the white Final Editions here, I didn't realize it was prominent in other countries. I hope you update with pictures when it is all said and done.

I have a local body shop in update NY that is AMAZING. My EVO MR was brand new in 2012. Had like 1300 miles on it and a truck backed out of parking lot and smashed the rear door and quarter panel. I told the body shop I wanted it CAR SHOW level fixed. When I picked it up I could feel the overspray a bit and minor tape lines and with that they kept it another day and two and made it perfect (they were super cool and new what I wanted up front). A few YEARS later I noticed some rust starting in the fender they replaced. Went to the shop and they said "OUR FAULT, fix for FREE" and they fixed it up perfect. So I cannot get into the details of HOW it was done, but it CAN be done by a good shop. Good luck!
