it's quite easy. i believe it's two to three clips that hold the bottom seats down. pull up and away on each side and it should come right up. then you will see a couple bolts that need to be unbolted *socket and ratchet, not sure what the size is*. Once that is off. you will lift up the backseat, by doing this it will clear the brackets/hooks that are holding the rear seats in place. if i miss anything my bad, and you will see it for yourself that it's quite simple. gl

The bolt heads for the seat back mounts, three of them, is a 14mm hex. You will want to also remove two of the 3-point harness mounts, which use a 17mm hex head bolts. the center and left side. Remove the head rests from the back seat section before removing the rear seat. Be sure to note where/how the belts and buckle ends come through the lower seat section before removing it. They do not go through the slots in the rear seats.

You will need a helper to re-install the rear seat section as there are three hooks to push the seat onto as you push it down. Then have the same helper assist with pushing the seat lower rearwards enough to engage the front clips. Don't forget to pull the seat belt buckles through as you install the lower.

With two people it'll take ten minutes to R&R both rear seats.

I removed mine without removing the seatbelts or headrests. I just used zipties to tie the belts to the grabhandles to get them out of the way.

BTW, with the rear backrest removed, you have access to the damper nuts.

Rear Seat pics

Hey guys I got some pics that might help out with removing the seats. Pretty much just follow what the other posts say to do. Should take about 10 min for removal and reinstall

Step 1: Lift up to pop the lower seat portion out of the clips
Step 2: Lift up and out to remove the lower portion
Step 3: Unbolt the upper seat
Step 4: Lift up and pull out to remove upper seat

if i remember correctly thats all there was to it.

Yea, putting it back in is extremely useful to have a second person, but other than that everything is straight forward. Pull on this, tug on that this way, unbolt that, and it's all out.

this is for evo X, it says you have an 8. are you thinking of just removing it for weight? not at all worth it unless you pull everything are a serious track junkie
