Yea some people still do. Just depends on how rich you run and how far out you O2 sensor is after the defouler install. I had to use two defouler's on my VIII to make it work.

I threw a SES as well, installed a CP-e test pipe with HFC this past weekend. I followed Tephra's solution to fix it ( Ecu Option 2, 1, toggle to 0). Hope that helps, cuz as is stated elsewhere, the second o2 sensor doesn't affect any thing performance wise on the car; its just for emissions regulation.
