Prevent the A/C fan to blow onto the intake and mess with the MAF readings.

If your ghetto you can buy a very small stainless steel pot from kmart/wallmart/wherever and cut it to fit, and use your scrap for any smaller pieces you wanna weld on for the "collar" section... "cookin with gas" etch on the shield is optional.

I to this date still don't understand the purpose of a heat shield like this ... the engine bay is hot regardless and IMO its strictly an aesthetic piece... if you are worried about heat then do a cold air set up

So the A/C fan does not blow into the cone filter and screw with the MAF readings at idle causing idle fluctuations.
