Post DIY Injectors EVOX

Im no mechanic, in fact I had problems with lego's when I was a child... Doing this will cause serious damage to your engine and possibly you blowing the F#$* up.. Do this on your own discretion, I'm simply posting this as a reference (pictures) of what I did... ( hopefully it will help some of you) In addition, feel free to let me know if I screwed something on up aswell

I planned on running E85 on my X for a couple of months now, after completing all the supporting mod/parts, I finally decided to pull the trigger last night and apply everything that I have read and learned through this forum. (big thanks to all who contributed)..

This however, will specifically be about installing my Dw 800cc injectors (1000cc's are next) since not too many reference were ever post about installing Inj. about injectors. I myself had a problem searching for our specific car which is the X..

Tools used...

Long nose Plier
Wrenches
10mm
8/9 mm
12 (i forgot if this is the right size for the 2 bolts on the fuel rail)
extension
Regular Pliers
RAGS
GLOVES

Here are my goodies
Blaqops kit
255walbro (thanks Ryan Gates)

DC the two main bolts that held the fuel rail. There are two black spacers between the Fuel Rail that hold keep the Inj spaced.. after dc the one of the 2 bolts becareful not to drop them under bec. it will be a pita if you do... undo one bolt and move on to the next...

Here's how the spacer look like...

After, dc the fuel rail bolts.. the rail could be move now, fuel pipe was freed up too... when you get enough space in between... unplug the stock injectors by gently pulling them one at a time. There are metal fastners that goes inward towards the car... Do not drop these unless you want extra noises and clanking in you engine bay... GENTLY pry them off and securing them from falling off..
When you pull the INJ they have the O rings attached top side of the Fuel Rail... some will come off with the Inj. some won't so becareful not to drop these aswell.. 3 out of 4 stayed on the fuel rail for me, I pulled them out with a Long nose Plier.

Also, at this point fuel will spew out... grab rags to clean up mess.. (especially with the first injector that you pull) Depressurize the lines was something that I missed... so search how to do that... if you do attempt to continue... fuel will flow out not much but good enough amount to stink.. also, If I may add.. open up windows or doors for ventilation, I got drozy and doopey...

Installing the DW's is pretty simple.. Don't forget to apply liberal amount of Lube on the 0 Rings top/bottom if you didn't get lube then apply with motor oil instead. Here's a picture of my Dw's installed.. when you have all four.. don't forget the black spacers.. don't drop them either! secure all 4 inj. and then work on one side to the next...

I didn't reuse the metal fasteners that went in the stock injectors.. I didn't think that I would need them since the DW's are pretty secure and fat up top.. After securing the fuel rail, I just bolted the rest of the parts that I took apart...
I might have forget some steps but if you can call me on it.. I might add later on... Oh by the way I did this during a freakin snow storm lastnight..

Cold weather ftl while doing installs, doubled my time at least. At least it wasn't snowing at the time.

Good write up.

Is a Blaqops How-To on the way too? I'll be installing the exact same setup next week along with an FP Red. Thanks for the great writeup!

^My blaqops double pumper came with pretty decent install instructions. The single is way easier if that is what you are doing, so the instructions that come with it should be adequate. Otherwise there is an install for the DIY 255 kit on evoxforums that you could use for reference as well.

Unfortunately, I don't have the steps on how to- w/ the blaqops but like murlo says it comes with instructions and many posts from other members gave sufficient information regarding the install... when I got my blaqops kit it didn't come with instructions.. But I have been researching prior of lastnight.. and knew where to find answers.. I caught a snag, with the inline filter that the blaqops came with.. and was really stump by that.. In retrospect, I would have taken an hour to install the kit knowing what I learned... but yea it really straightforward...

Was it trying to figure out how to get the quick disconnect off the line in the back of the engine bay? I couldn't figure that out quick (needed to get my car dropped off before my shop closed) and just payed the shop where my car has been a few extra bucks to do it, lol.

The real results will come in a few weeks once I get the clutch installed, so don't be surprised to see some lower results tomorrow. Also it will be on a 1.0CF DD dyno, baseline there is like 210whp.

I am hoping for 410whp or so, we shall see Stock clutch has to hold together!

Good write up. In regards to depressurizing the system I think you just need to pull the fuel pump fuse, or unplug the fuel pump and start the car. It will quickly drain the fuel system/pressure.
