try try try.. its a pain in the ***... try using PB blaster and let it sit for a while. Its just a matter of not giving up. There's one bolt which is going to take you hours to take off, you'll know which one it is when you get to it.

Good luck man... its not an easy to take it off.. just hang in there.

This was a difficult job. All the nuts face the right side and can be gotten to easily from under the car or from the wheel well except one. I finally took all the intake parts and got to it from the top. That's still not an easy task and you won't get a socket on it. I used a regualr box wrench when I finally got it.

I ended up doing the same thing but I couldn't get the socket to sit flush so I just went with a box wrench to reduce the chance of stripping the head. The bolts get so hot they are generally seized and hard to break loose. My car only had 12k miles and it was a P.I.T.A.

Well my friend ended up stripping the bolt n the local exhaust shop wont touch the downpipe. Is the easiest solution now just to replace the o2 housing? What pairs best w turbo xs do?

haha it can be such a pita, I was doing a turbo at the same time, I ended up just having everything unbolted before I could get that last bolt that is way way under there. I prolly lost a pint of blood getting that damn bolt out.

I'm on the south side of Indy (Beech Grove Area)

I had good luck with long extensions from the passenger front wheel well with a mild socket swival. There are a couple bolts easy to reach from the bottom. It's really just this one nasty one facing the oposite direction that's a booger. I'm taking my car back stock this weekend so I get to do for the second time in the last 2 months! wohoo!

I tried again the other day because my new exhaust just came.. but I ended up just taking it to a shop and it is being done right now. I could get all of them except the one that faces the driver side. But I also couldn't get my cat and catback portion unbolted because the bolts were so rusted that you couldn't even fit a wrench or socket on them. (completely rounded over with rust).. I figure paying would save me some busted knuckles, cuts, and having to torch and drill out snapped bolts.

I paid $350 at a local sponsor shop to do mine and it took them 2.5 hours as they've done many. I was going to DIY until I heard what a PITA job it was!
