AEM Oil Pressure gauge install?

What did you guys use for the sensor? Did you screw in into the block with a 3/8 x 1/8 adapter or did you guys use a sandwhich on the oil filter? Pictures would be great. Thanks guys

I used this little part from 42 Draft Designs:

http://store.42draftdesigns.com/Lanc...ptor_p_55.html

There is a port on the oil filter mount that has a plug in it. Take out the plug, put in this adapter, and put the sensor into the adapter. I'll look for the intructions and try to get a picture soon. It was pretty easy to do during an oil change.

Sorry I didn't get back to you quicker. Here is a picture looking at the top of the oil filter.

I had my oil sensor plugged in there too and then the fitting snapped and i was left on the side of the road with oil having been sprayed over everything, good thing i noticed the drop in pressure when it happened! I then bought the ams oil sensor relocation hose and have had no problems just my 2 cents

I bought the AMS relocation hose, but I wasnt sure if it would still give accurate reading so I havent installed it. Did you notice a change in pressure when you installed the relocation hose?

That's interesting. Do you have any idea what caused it to snap?

when you mount it to the block like that all the harmonics from the motor vibrate through it and i have race mounts in my car and it went snap. for 35 bucks or whatever the hose cost me is cheap insurance against it happening ever
again

This is what i used on mine:

Installed one on a AP1 S2000 with 651whp. Perfect! No leaks or issues.

or you can buy that at Home Depot for 3 dollars. It's just a 1/8 NPT to 3/8MPT thread converter. They're back in the brass fittings area.

Ok I have a different yet similar question: I have an Autometer Oil Pressure gauge and I just picked up a Greddy Sandwich adapter that came off an Evo X. The adapter has all the fittings but what do I use to connect the adapter to the gauge? Just a one-wire oil pressure switch (I work at NAPA so I can find that pretty easy) and run the signal wire?

Also, whats this AMS oil relocation hose all about and what is the advantage of it?

Are you asking how you connect the sensor to the gauge? I'm confused by your question. My sensor came with a 3-wire connector that plugs into the back of the gauge. I had to splice in an extension to make up the extra length I needed because of how I ran the wires, but that was just a matter of using crimp connectors and some heat shrink.
