20mm Spacers on Evo X GSR Enkei Wheels

Hey guys,

I bolted on some motorsport tech 20mm adapter spacers (the ones with their own studs) onto my X GSR with stock Enkei wheels this weekend. I am on stock suspension too. I just wanted to let anyone else interested in doing this that it looks great and has minimal rubbing initially. After installing the spacers at first, I would rub the front of the tire at full lock to the left or right onto the front of the fender liner fans/vents at low speed. But after doing a few full lock turns at low speed, it seems that there is now some clearance between the tire and liner.

BTW, motorsport tech makes some great pieces and they have great customer support. The spacer adapters are hub and wheel centric and I have no vibrations after installation. Highly recommend them!

not hard at all, just take off the wheel, and torque down the 5 nuts for each spacer

Yup, Stiggysaurus is right. Not too hard at all...and I am pretty noobish, haha.

1. Jack up car
2. Remove wheel
3. Clean the hub with brush to remove rust (if any) and spray with brake cleaner [you want to make sure that the contact surface between the spacer and hub is as clean as possible so as to eliminate any source of vibration]
4. Lightly smear anti-seize around the hub lip
5. Place spacer onto stock studs and then tighten with included nuts
6. Put wheel back on and tighten lug nuts
7. Do the same for the rest of the wheels

No, they are "adapter spacers" that have their own studs attached (to which the wheels are tightened onto). Refer to the picture above. Slip on spacers do not have their own studs and your wheels still bolt on to the factory studs.

Check out this vid:

My greatest concern is how strong are spacers when it comes bad roads. And if it can withstand the conditions of bad roads.which size would you guys suggest as the perfect fit.

As I had stated in my first post: initially yes at full lock in either direction. After a few full lock turns in both directions, there was enough clearance between the tire and fender liner. You can get a heat gun and heat up the fender liner and push on it to create some more space as well.
